“Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” —Proverbs 18:21
As believers, we are not powerless in this world—we have been given a powerful spiritual tool that can literally shape our lives: our words. God has designed the spiritual law of confession so that when we speak His Word, we release the power to change things in the natural circumstances around us.
When we speak in agreement with His Word, we activate the power of life and victory.
1. Your Words Reflect What You Believe
Jesus said in Matthew 12:34, “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”
What you believe in your heart will eventually find its way out of your mouth. If you want to change what you say, you must first renew your heart with God’s Word.
When you fill your heart with faith, hope, and love, those are the words that will flow—and those words carry life!
Speak this aloud: “I am more than a conqueror through Christ.” —Romans 8:37
2. Words Set the Course of Your Life
James 3:4 compares the tongue to the rudder of a ship—it may be small, but it determines the direction.
Kenneth Copeland teaches, “Every faith declaration is a seed—spoken words that produce a harvest.”
What you speak today sets the direction of your tomorrow. Let your words move your life toward God’s best.
Declare this daily: “The BLESSING of the Lord is working in every area of my life.”
3. Words Can Heal or Harm
Proverbs 12:18 says, “The tongue of the wise brings healing.”
Words can either build up or tear down. They can release healing or cause long-term wounds. That’s why it’s vital to speak intentionally—especially over yourself and your relationships.
Choose this today: “I speak kindness, love, and peace in every conversation.”
4. Words Activate the Supernatural
Psalm 103:20 says that angels “excel in strength, that do His word, heeding the voice of His word.”
When we speak God’s Word, we give angels their assignment. Your confession of Scripture has the power to release Heaven’s help.
Confess this in prayer: No weapon that is formed against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17)
Speak Life Every Day
Your words matter. They are spiritual forces that shape outcomes and open doors to God’s promises. Whether you’re speaking over your health, finances, family, or future—speak in agreement with God’s Word.
Today, choose to speak life. Let every word you speak be rooted in faith and filled with God’s truth—and watch His power go to work on your behalf!
