A Confession that Prayer Changes Things
I pray without ceasing. I refuse to be moved by what I see or how I feel. I am only moved by what the Word says. First Thessalonians 5:17-18 says to “be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly]; Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].” I will be thankful, no matter what my circumstances look like.
Faith works by love. I endeavour to walk in love with others, so that my faith won’t be hindered. According to 1 John 3:22-23, “we receive from Him whatever we ask, because we [watchfully] obey His orders [observe His suggestions and injunctions, follow His plan for us] and [habitually] practice what is pleasing to Him. And this is His order (His command, His injunction): that we should believe in (put our faith and trust in and adhere to and rely on) the name of His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and that we should love one another, just as He has commanded us.” I put my faith and trust in Jesus and I will love others, just as He has commanded us to do.
