Real Help

When you think of praise and worship, your thoughts likely jump to music at the beginning of a church service. But praise is much more than that—it is a spiritual weapon.

When you praise the Lord, it can turn any situation around. Consider these praise-induced victories to stir your faith for your own triumph.

• “As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated” (2 Chronicles 20:22, NIV).

• “About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened” (Acts 16:25-26, ESV).

• “And at the seventh time, when the priests had blown the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, ‘Shout, for the Lord has given you the city’” (Joshua 6:16, ESV).

What do these verses tell us?

Praise precedes the victory.

Andrew Wommack testifies the same about a victory he once experienced in his family: “I truly believe that my choice to praise God, even after getting the report that my son was dead, was one of the biggest factors in seeing him raised from the dead after nearly five hours.”

1. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords (Revelation 19:16).
2. He is the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:13).
3. He is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
4. He is the Great I AM (Exodus 3:14).
5. He heals the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3).
6. He sets the captives free (Luke 4:18).
7. He is your Healer (Isaiah 53:5).
8. He rescues you from your enemies (Psalm 18:48).
9. He sets you high upon a rock (Psalm 27:5).
10. He comforts you in all your troubles (2 Corinthians 1:4).
11. He gives you an abundant harvest (Genesis 27:28).
12. He restores what the enemy has stolen (Deuteronomy 30:3)
13. He hides you in the shadow of His wings (Psalm 91:4).
14. He delivers you from evil (Psalm 91).
15. He rescues you from every trap (Psalm 25:15, CEV).
16. He is the Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).
17. He is the Name above all names (Philippians 2:9).
18. He is your Defender (Proverbs 22:23).
19. He is your Provider (Genesis 22:14).
20. He is Mercy (Deuteronomy 4:31).
21. He is a God of justice (Isaiah 30:18).
22. He never changes (Hebrews 13:8).
23. He makes all things new (Revelation 21:5).
24. He calls you friend (John 15:15).
25. He is your Saviour (John 3:16).
26. He is the Perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
27. He gives you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).
28. He wants to give you exceeding, abundantly above all you could hope or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
29. He rebukes the devourer on your behalf (Malachi 3:11).
30. He takes pleasure in your prosperity (Psalm 35:27).
31. He delivers us from our distresses (Psalm 107:6, 19).
32. He always causes us to triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14).
33. He is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6).
34. He is so worthy, if we do not praise Him, the rocks will cry out (Luke 19:40).
35. His joy is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
36. He is Love (1 John 4:8).

Kenneth Copeland says, “Praise is the big gun of faith.” Don’t make praising God the last weapon you take out of your arsenal in troubled times. Praise the Lord. Praise Him with all your might like David did. Praise Him until your victory breaks forth and changes even the most impossible situation.
