The Benefits of Being Righteous
When you were born again, you weren’t half-reborn, you weren’t made half-righteous or a quarter righteous. You were made the righteousness of God in Christ! You were made a “joint heir with Him.” According to Strong’s Concordance, the term joint heir refers to “a personal equality based on an equality of possession.” But do you know the benefits of being righteous?
Jesus went to the cross to give you what He already possessed. He rose again so you could be re-created in His image. You are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus.
It doesn’t matter how badly you may have messed things up yesterday or how many mistakes you have made, you can begin this day knowing you are righteous! Not because of anything you’ve done but because you’ve received, by faith in Jesus, the very righteousness of God.
Just look at all the benefits that being righteous will bring. God’s Word says:

“The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree.” –Psalm 92:12 (NKJV)

“The seed of the righteous shall be delivered.” –Proverbs 11:21 (KJV)

“The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers.” –1 Peter 3:12 (KJV)

“You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favour You will surround him as with a shield.” –Psalm 5:12 (NKJV)

“The righteous cry, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.” –Psalm 34:17 (NKJV)

“I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.” –Psalm 37:25 (NKJV)

“The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell in it forever.” –Psalm 37:29 (NKJV)
Don’t let the devil rob you of even one of these blessings by telling you you’re unworthy of them. Run him off. Shout out loud, “I am the righteousness of God!” Then step out in faith and enjoy the privileges God has prepared for you!
Once you dare to accept that fact, your life will be forever changed. You’ll no longer be satisfied to just sit around whining and wishing things were different. You’ll want to step up to the position of authority that Jesus has given you, take your rightful place beside Him, and learn to operate the way He does.
If you’ll receive that message, if you’ll dare to believe it, if you’ll dare to put it into action, it will radically alter your life. As one who has been made the righteousness of God, you can enjoy the benefits of the righteous. It will take you from religion to reality!
