When Christians say: “No weapon formed against me shall prosper!” What do we really mean? Most Christians contend with the trouble itself instead of the troublemaker who is your enemy. When we look at the troubles of this earth, do we ask ourselves: who is the enemy? Who is the real source all our troubles, whether they are spiritual, mental, physical, social or financial? Just as the matador is no match for a mean, ferocious bull, the troublemaker is no match for a believer who battles him with the full armour and mighty weapons of God.
Who Is the Enemy?
Trouble seems to be all around us, and in our human nature, we look to blame someone or something for all the trouble. Sadly, many Christians and non-believers, accuse God of being the cause of the world’s troubles. The greatest deception in the Church today is that our problems, trials, and temptations are sent by God to teach us. The very extreme end of this deception is that God Himself is the author of our troubles, or that God is the One Who makes us sick in order to teach us something.
This is in direct contradiction to The WORD because the absolute truth is that God put our sin, sickness, disease, sorrow, grief and poverty on Jesus at Calvary. For God to put any of this on us to teach us or strengthen our faith would be a miscarriage of justice. When we acknowledge and receive by faith that Jesus has borne all of our sins, sickness, disease, sorrow, grief and poverty for us on the cross – it is finished!
The battle lines are drawn. God is not your problem. In fact, He guarantees that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17)! Satan is your problem – he is your enemy. But the good news is that God has provided your complete deliverance through Jesus Christ.

God’s Correction Through His Word
There are times when a situation looks as if God is behind it. But, Satan is a deceiver; he wants you to think God did it. The religious idea that God chastises His own with sickness and disease and poverty is the very thing that has caused the Church to go 1,500 years without the knowledge of the Holy Spirit or the gifts of the Spirit. We just became so passive and double-minded that the whole Church was schizophrenic, except for a few men here and there who refused to believe it—and most of them were kicked out of their churches.
Now let’s look at this a little closer. “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth,” (Hebrew 12:6, KJV). The word scourge means “to beat on.” God is the Father of spirits. He doesn’t scourge the flesh, He scourges the inner man. How does He do this? With His Word.
God’s method of teaching and correcting us is through the Word, as described in 2 Timothy 3:16-17:
Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, and for training in righteousness, So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well-fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work” (AMPC).
It is our responsibility to take the time to study and meditate on the Word. The Word will chasten unbelief and purify us in such a way that we come out strong, not weak and condemned
No Weapon Formed Against You Shall Prosper!
Fear is Satan’s primary weapon. It’s a spiritual force that begins inside you, and it is totally destructive because it robs you of your faith and peace. It keeps your focus on circumstances instead of the promises in God’s Word.
That’s why the Bible commands 110 times to “fear not.” It’s why, when Jairus needed healing for his daughter and the circumstances didn’t look good, Jesus was quick to instruct him, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be healed” (Luke 8:50). Jesus was warning Jairus of the greatest enemy to his daughter’s healing—fear.
The enemy instills fear by challenging the promises of God. An excellent example of this is found in Matthew 14 when Jesus invited Peter to come to Him on the water. “But when he [Peter] saw the strong wind and waves, he was terrified and began to sink. ‘Save me, Lord!’ he shouted” (verse 30).
What enabled Peter to walk on the water? His faith in the Word of Jesus. What caused Peter to sink? He saw the strong wind and waves, and he was afraid. It wasn’t the wind and waves that defeated him; it was his fear of them!
You can’t afford the “luxury” of entertaining the enemy’s lies. There’s too much at stake. Your health. Your family. Your relationships. Your money. Don’t let the devil become your counsellor in the areas of life that matter most. He’s the father of lies and your greatest enemy.
