100 Years of ANZAC

These words of Jesus were part of His final expression of love toward His friends. His life, exchanged for our lives, was indeed the greatest act of love the world has ever known.

April 25, 2015 will mark the 100th anniversary of the Australian and New Zealand (ANZAC) troops landing on the shores of Gallipoli in Turkey during the First World War. We are thankful for the men and women who have served our country. We are grateful for their commitment to defend and protect their friends—both their military brothers on the front line and their loved ones on the home front—even at the ultimate cost. We honour them and remember their sacrifice. Always.

As we remember these great men and women who gave their lives, we pray for those whom they left behind—mothers, fathers, spouses, children, brothers, sisters. According to 1 Peter 5:10, we pray that our God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered awhile, restore your soul, establish you, strengthen you and settle your heart.

We celebrate the extraordinary lives of our loved ones and honour their ultimate service to the nation and to the world. We say, “Thank You, Lord, for these friends!”

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them!
