3 Steps: How to Taste God’s Goodness

3 Steps: How to Taste God's Goodness

Many Christians believe God is good, but far fewer live like it’s true for them personally. Psalm 34:8 urges us to “taste and see that the Lord is good.” That doesn’t mean just knowing about God’s goodness—it means experiencing it for yourself. And the good news is, you absolutely can.

God doesn’t reserve His goodness for a few “special” people. He wants you to live in His blessing—spirit, soul and body. If you’re ready to stop admiring others’ breakthroughs and start living in your own, follow these three powerful steps.

1. Renew Your Mind With the Truth

Start by changing how you think. Romans 12:2 commands us to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” You can’t walk in something your mind refuses to accept. If religion has taught you that God uses sickness or lack to teach lessons, reject that lie.

Look to Jesus—the perfect image of God. Jesus healed, restored, and provided for those who came to Him in faith. He never turned anyone away. So why would He start with you?

Read and meditate on Scriptures that reveal God’s goodness. Verses like Exodus 15:26, Psalm 145:8, and Jeremiah 9:24 clearly show that God wants you whole, healed, and walking in peace. Let His Word reshape your thinking until His goodness becomes your expectation—not the exception.

2. Believe You Will See His Goodness

Next, build your faith to expect God’s goodness. Psalm 27:13 says, “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

Don’t just believe that God is good—believe that He’s good to you. Stop waiting for circumstances to convince you. Settle it now: God is faithful, and He wants to pour out every good and perfect gift into your life (James 1:17). He isn’t withholding anything. He gave His best—Jesus—so He won’t hold back anything else.

Make the decision that what you believe will drive your prayers, your confessions, and your daily decisions. When you do this, you’ll start seeing His goodness more and more.

3. Receive His Goodness by Faith

Once you renew your mind and believe in your heart, act on it. Psalm 84:11 promises, “No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” If God isn’t withholding, then the only thing left to do is receive.

Receiving takes faith. Faith speaks. Faith obeys. Faith stands. If it lines up with His Word, God wants you to have it. That doesn’t mean you don’t have a part to play of course. Your part is obedience and receiving by faith. Don’t doubt for a minute that He wants to give it to you.

Don’t let fear or unworthiness stop you. Jesus made you righteous. You can receive every promise—healing, peace, provision, and joy—because of what He did.

It’s time to stop watching others enjoy the fullness of God’s goodness and begin receiving it for yourself. Be reminded of the goodness and faithfulness of God as you watch Jeremy Pearsons teach about Supernatural Acceleration .
